We’re Not Building a Painting Company for Today. We’re Building a Legacy.
A1 Painting was built around a simple idea: homeowners should be able to hire a contractor and trust the company to communicate, prepare correctly, protect the property, and stand behind the finished work.
From first response to finishing touches
A Painting Business Built Around More Than Paint
A1 Painting was founded by Chandler Mangrum after years of learning the trade alongside his father and building a professional life in emergency medical services. Painting taught the craft. Paramedic work reinforced the importance of organization, communication, composure, and accountability.
Those two backgrounds shape the way A1 operates today. The goal is not simply to put color on walls. It is to build a company homeowners can trust with their property, their schedule, and the expectations attached to a significant home project.
What began as a way to build a stronger future for Chandler, Chelsea, and their children has grown into a family-operated company designed around premium finishes, established crews, clear project management, and long-term relationships with clients.
What the A1 name is supposed to mean
The Standard Behind the Finish
The finished paint matters. The way the project is managed before, during, and after the coating goes on matters too.
Built With a Long-Term View
A1 is family operated, and the business is being built with the expectation that the name attached to the project should still mean something years from now.
Organized Under Pressure
First responder experience reinforces calm communication, preparation, accountability, and the discipline to solve problems without creating new ones.
Built Beyond the Final Walkthrough
Premium coatings, proper preparation, and written workmanship backing are part of building a finish intended to perform after the crew leaves.

Leadership With Responsibility on Both Sides of the Project
Sales, communication, planning, preparation, and field execution all need clear ownership.

What homeowners should expect
The A1 Standard Is Bigger Than the Final Color
A premium contractor should reduce uncertainty—not create more of it. These are the operating standards we want attached to every project carrying the A1 name.
Defined Scope
Homeowners should know what is included, what is excluded, what products are specified, and what the project costs before work begins.
Respect for the Property
Masking, protection, cleanup, and job-site organization are part of the work—not optional extras after the painting is finished.
Clear Accountability
Established crews and project leadership create a clear chain of responsibility from scheduling through final walkthrough.
Workmanship Backed in Writing
The relationship should not end the moment the final invoice is paid. A1 backs applicable workmanship in writing.
A1 quality every time.
